Perodua is Malaysia’s second national carmaker, and it specialises in affordable, mass market models that appeal to the budget conscious. Perodua’s models are among the cheapest new cars available on sale in Singapore. Japanese carmaker Daihatsu holds a 20 percent stake in the company, and most Perodua cars use components sourced from Daihatsu. It is mostly known for its small hatchbacks, and popular models in the past included the Kancil, Kelisa, and Kenari, which were all based on Daihatsu models.
